This section tells you all the courses that we offer, during the term time and holidays, including key information and variations, as well as the retrospective, wide-range of awards that we have to achieve by our swimmer's!
Our main lessons run during the school term time. Each term, all of our courses have their own lesson plans so each course is taught the same skills and stroke each week, regardless of teacher, day, time and variations, with activities and games being adapted to each swimmer's ability.
Please Note: We currently do not offer every single course mentioned on this page (although we'd love to!). Courses are put on due to demand, so if you see a course that you are interested in, that is not currently timetabled, then please just message us so we can gauge interest.

Our Little Ducklings courses are our Adult & Baby lessons, (from around 4 to 18 months), perfect for introducing babies to the water, developing those early cognitive and basic aquatic skills and educating the Adult on how to handle and teach baby.
Waddling Ducklings are our Adult & Toddler classes, (from about 12 to 36 months) that continue to develop gross motor and cognitive skills as well as water confidence, preparing them for Ducklings Explorers where they will begin to swim on their own.
Ducklings Explorers cover Swim England's Ducklings 1 & 2 awards. This is where little swimmers begin to swim without their adult. Swimmer's will learn basic floating and travelling movements with flotation aids and can begin to develop those fundamental skills. .
Duckling Masters cover Swim England's Ducklings 3 & 4 awards. These lessons aim to prepare swimmer's for Stage 1, helping build their confidence and independence within the water through lots of play, fun games and activities.
Stage 1 helps to build water confidence, while introducing water safety skills and the basic skills needed to build swimming ability.
Stage 2 sees swimmers develop streamlining to their strokes and travel without their feet on the floor, using a recognised leg kick.
Swim Stage 3 swimmers will develop their kicks, on both their front and their back.
Swim Stage 4 sees swimmers perfect their leg kicks for all four strokes and further develop push and glides, while also being introduced to sculling.
Swim Stage 5 swimmers will develop their skills in treading water, learn the correct arm pulls for all four strokes and learn how to do handstands and somersaults.
Swim Stage 6 teaches swimmers how to prepare for exercise, while developing an efficient technique for all four strokes and further developing surface dives.
Swim Stage 7 focuses on fully developing all four swimming strokes, as well as building stamina and improving diving skills.
Ideal for swimmers that have completed stage 7, rookies takes water safety further, teaching self-rescue, first aid and life saving techniques.
Develop those core aquatic and fundamental skills further with with our range of Stage 8 courses. Artistic Swimming, otherwise known as Synchronised Swimming, is a great alternative to swimming. Basically gymnastics in the water, swimmer's learn lots of new moves and skills and sequences.

Our courses run throughout the term time, so the length will depend on how many weeks are in that term. .
During the school holidays we intend to offer additional lessons, intensive lessons and Water Safety Courses as well as our Stage 8 Taster courses for our Stage 7 swimmers. More about our holiday lessons can be found below.
All our classes have varying ratios, and as mentioned previously, all of which are planned, so regardless of what class they are in, the same strokes and skills will be taught each week according to each course. Lesson plans for that week will be on display at the pool, as well as on our Social Media pages. 'Skills at Home' is a great way for swimmer's to practice and develop specific skills that they have learnt during their lesson, at home.
On our timetable you may see ADAPTIVE written with some of our Stage classes. This means that these classes are adapted to swimmers who may have shorter attention spans and need a little more help or support OR for those swimmers who would like pushing OR for those swimmers who prefer smaller classes..
These classes have a ratio of 1:4.
We have three specially planned SEN courses, with a ratio of 1:4, that teach swimmer's with any special educational needs and disabilities with any swimming ability. From complete non-swimmers to those with some aquatic skills, each of these courses all have their own set of outcomes and awards.
Where possible, we aim to introduce swimmers back into mainstream classes. We are also more than happy to allow parents/guardians/carers to get in the water.
We currently have three courses for our Adult swimmers. Our Adults lessons start from complete non-swimmer's with our Beginners courses, where will will help you build you confidence and trust within the water as well as some basic kicking and aquatic skills.
Our Intermediate lessons are for those with some confidence but still developing stroke technique and skills.
Our Advanced lessons are where you swim in lane meaning we can work with you to continue to build your stroke technique and stamina.
For whatever reason, we are happy to offer 1:1 or 1:2 lessons. Obviously, these are not timetabled but if this is something you wish to book with us, please just contact us. We cannot guarantee immediate lesson, but can look at starting the following term.
We can offer 1:1s/1:2s for anyone at any stage, and ability (including SEN and adults).
These lessons can be booked in half term or whole term blocks, so the number of weeks will depend on how many weeks that school term is.
During the holidays we will be offering additional lessons (so you can continue your normal weekly lesson at an extra fee) as well as many other courses that can be found listed below.
Our Holiday timetable will be released and courses available to book approximately two weeks before they are due to start. If there is a particular course you are interested in, please register it with us so we can add it to our timetable if we can!
Crash courses, for all stages, will be offered during the school holidays, allowing swimmers to extend their knowledge, develop their core aquatic and fundamental skills as well as developing their stroke techniques.
Our swimmer's safety in the pool is absolutely paramount to us and we firmly believe in educating our swimmers on water safety, from as early as possible. It is our aim to educate our swimmers on what to do if they, or a friend or family member, came into difficulty whether at a pool, river, beach or any other open water!
We offer a number of Water Safety courses, that all come with awards! Water Safety 1, 2 and 3, are suitable to coinside with our Stage classes and make a good change to the usual swimming lessons. These can be followed perfectly with Rookie Lifesaving once the swimmer has passed Stage 7.
We love to offer a whole range of courses than can meet a number of interests and needs. Our Swim England Challenge awards are a great way to keep swimmer's in the water without doing the usual swimming. With four awards to achieve: Bronze, SiIver, Gold & Platinum awards , swimmers can begin these awards from around Stage 5, learning lots of new skills, valuable to life!
Has your swimmer finished Stage 7 and wants to continue to swim but not sure where to go next... well this course is perfect for them! It introduces swimmers to all four of the Stage 8 courses: Competitive Swimming, Artistic Swimming, Competitive Swimming and Water Polo as well as Rookie Lifesaving. This is a 5 session course in which swimmers will spend one session trying out each, one. At the end of the course, they can then decide if they wish to pursue one of the courses further.
At All Blue, we have adapted Swim England's stage criteria and awards, adding our own outcomes and creating our own set of Awards.
With our extensive experience and wide knowledge of our industry we have decided that swimmer's should achieve other specific outcomes and develop, or be introduced, to certain skills before moving onto the next stage, all of which will be covered during the term.
We believe this gives our swimmers the best start in the next stage, making the transition between the stages seamless and more achievable.
Once achieved, Swim England's awards will be available to purchase, as well as our own.
More about our Awards coming soon!
